Turkey: The Lycian Way Trek

LYCIAN WAY Trek Itinerary

DAY 1: Arrival Dalaman

 

Upon arrival to Dalaman airport, we will arrange for an airport transfer to the hotel. After check-in we will meet up for a quick team briefing followed by a traditional dinner around Fethiye to know a little more about the culture and our fellow hikers. After dinner we will head back to the hotel for gear checks.

DAY 2: Faralya Village

Our first step towards the Lycian Way trail starts TODAY! We will have breakfast at 8 am and depart to Ovacik village. The drive will take us around 30 mins. The first section of the trail will be full of greenery, it is a great opportunity to learn about the vegetation and the flora life of Oludeniz. Along the route, we will arrive to a peak halfway through the trail where the mountain meets the sea, an instagramable view and a great place for have lunch. We then continue our route and expect to arrive at Faralya Village by evening time, have a quick bite and head to bed.

 

DAY 3: Alinca Village

Breakfast with view of Butterfly Valley, our second day on the Lycian Way will start with an easy flat route going down hill towards Kabak Village. Passing through Kabak, we will continue our way up deep within a pine forest to enjoy our premade lunch. Moving slightly up towards Alinca, we will experience a marvelous view of the beach between the trees and cliffs, its breathtaking. We will then head towards our accommodation for a delicious local dinner.

 

DAY 4: Ge Village

↗️ Elevation: -300m/+400m

 

The trek towards Ge Village is uphill through an easy but rocky footpath towards another clifftop. We will pass by local farms around the village of Bogazici where we will have lunch. Dinner and accommodation will be in the village of Ge.

 

DAY 5: The Ancient City of Lycia

 

⛰️ Total Distance: 8 km

↗️ Elevation: 370m

 

Sidyma was the capital of Ancient Lycia (where the Lycian Way named after). We will start ascending towards a clifftop where we will take pictures for the gram with the view of the mountains and the sea. We will then proceed towards Sydima and reach by afternoon. After a quick lunch, we will tour within the ancient city of Sidyma. We will then take a bus to towards Kas our next accommodation.

 

DAY 6: Uzumlu Beach

 

⛰️ Total Distance: 15 km

↗️ Elevation: 50 m

 

This day is one of the longest yet the best, we will be trekking through the beaches starting from Kas village reaching Uzumlu beach, it will be a trek full of sea views. We will then take the bus to Olympos village towards our accommodation for the night.

 

DAY 7: Mount Tahtali (Lycia Peak)

 

This will be the last day of the journey, we will tour Olympos village, the ancient city and head to the forests. We will visit the beach and enjoy a refreshing dip in the water (it is optional to swim). Dry off, and head to the cable cars to visit Mount Tahtali; the highest peak of the Lycia Region (2366 meters), and then head back to Antalya for dinner.

 

DAY 8: Let's Say Bye! 

 

We will have our breakfast at the hotel and snap our last group picture for the record. We will have the airport shuttles waiting for us based on our flight’s schedules at Antalya. If you plan to stay a couple of days more in Antalya, your airport shuttle will be available upon you travel schedule.

Payment and Cancellation Terms:

This trip will cost a total of AED 5,500, and split as per the below:

• Payment 1 - 50%: AED 2,750 (online upon registration and fully refundable up to  05 May 2023)
• Payment 2 - 50%: AED 2,750 (by 06 May 2023 and 50% refundable up to 12 May 2023)

Seat Reservation and Limitation: 

This trip is limited to 12 guests only - Guests must ensure successful payments on above dates mentioned in order to secure their seat. Failure to complete payment may result in seat cancellation.
