Trip Terms & Participant Waiver
These Trekaline Trip Terms & Participant Waiver (“Terms”) govern every booking and every Activity organized by Trekaline LLC, a company registered in the Sharjah Media City (SHAMS) free zone, trading as Trekaline (trekaline.com), Trade License No. 2117072.01, Sharjah Media City, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (“Trekaline,” “we,” “us,” “our”), whether booked through trekaline.com, our booking platform, or directly with a member of our team.
These Terms are a single, legally binding agreement. They cover how bookings, payments, and cancellations work, the risks involved in Trekaline’s activities, and the legal rights you give up by taking part. By completing a booking, or by ticking the acceptance box on our website or booking platform before joining a Trip, you agree to be bound by these Terms in full, including the release of Trekaline from liability and your voluntary acceptance of the risks described in Part C below. Read these Terms in full before accepting. If you do not understand any part of them, seek independent legal advice.

Part A — About These Terms
1. About These Terms
These Terms apply to every hike, trek, camping trip, mountain or desert excursion, guided experience, or other outdoor activity organized, promoted, or led by Trekaline, whether within the United Arab Emirates or abroad, and to every booking made for one.
A Trip listing on trekaline.com or any Trekaline booking channel is an invitation to book, not a guaranteed place.
2. Definitions
“Trekaline,” “we,” “us,” “our” means Trekaline LLC, a company registered in the Sharjah Media City (SHAMS) free zone, trading as Trekaline (trekaline.com), Trade License No. 2117072.01, Sharjah Media City, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, including its owners, directors, employees, trip guides, captains, and other trip staff (together, “Guides”), volunteers, subcontractors, and partners.
“Activity” and “Trip” are used interchangeably in these Terms to mean any hike, trek, camping trip, mountain or desert excursion, guided experience, or other outdoor activity organized, promoted, or led by Trekaline, whether within the United Arab Emirates or abroad.
“Trip Leader” means the Guide designated by Trekaline as having overall responsibility for a specific Trip.
“Participant,” “you,” “your” means the individual registering for and/or taking part in an Activity. Where a parent or legal guardian accepts these Terms on behalf of a minor Participant, the parent or guardian does so in their own capacity and confirms the acknowledgments in these Terms on the minor’s behalf to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Part B — Booking, Payment and Eligibility
3. Booking and Confirmation
Your booking is confirmed only once payment for your ticket has been received in full and Trekaline has issued a booking confirmation. Adding a Trip to a cart, expressing interest, or receiving a provisional hold does not constitute a confirmed booking.
It is your responsibility to check your booking confirmation and notify Trekaline promptly of any error.
4. Pricing and Payment
Trip prices are displayed in AED unless stated otherwise and are payable in full at the time of booking, unless Trekaline expressly agrees to a different payment arrangement.
Prices may include or exclude transport, guiding, permits, meals, and equipment as specified on the individual Trip listing. Anything not expressly listed as included on the Trip listing is excluded.
Trekaline reserves the right to correct genuine pricing errors before a booking is confirmed.
For multi-day Trips and Trips taking place outside the United Arab Emirates (“Expeditions”), Trekaline may require a deposit at the time of booking, with the balance payable by the date specified on the Trip listing. The deposit is fully refundable if you cancel more than 60 days before the Trip’s start date; within 60 days of the start date, the deposit is no longer separately refundable and clause 20 or clause 21 governs your cancellation.
5. Changes to a Trip by Trekaline
Trekaline organizes outdoor activities that depend on conditions outside its control. Trekaline reserves the right, acting reasonably, to change a Trip’s route, location, itinerary, difficulty level, start time, or assigned Guide(s) where necessary for participant safety, or due to weather, ground conditions, permit or access restrictions, government directive, insufficient registrations, or other operational reasons. Where reasonably possible, Trekaline will notify Participants of material changes in advance and offer a comparable alternative. Such changes are not treated as a cancellation (see clauses 20 to 23).
6. Eligibility and Participant Requirements
Some Trips carry minimum age, fitness, or experience requirements, stated on the Trip listing. It is your responsibility to assess whether a Trip is suitable for you.
You must arrive on time, at the stated location, with the equipment specified for the Trip. Trekaline is not obliged to wait for late arrivals or to provide a refund where you miss a Trip departure.
The Trip Leader may refuse or withdraw a booking on safety grounds, as set out in clause 11.
For Expeditions (multi-day Trips, or Trips taking place outside the United Arab Emirates), you must hold, and provide evidence of, medical and emergency evacuation insurance appropriate to the Activity and its location, as set out in clause 14.
Part C — Risks, Conduct and Release of Liability
7. Nature of the Activities
Trekaline organizes hiking, trekking, mountain and desert excursions, camping, and related outdoor activities across the United Arab Emirates and other locations. These activities take place in natural, often remote, outdoor environments that Trekaline does not control and cannot make risk-free.
8. Inherent Risks
Participation in an Activity involves risks including, without limitation:
Terrain & environment: uneven, rocky, loose, or slippery ground; steep or exposed sections; cliffs, ledges, and falling rock; wadis, water crossings, and flash flooding.
Weather: extreme heat, humidity, dehydration, and heat-related illness; sudden temperature drops; sandstorms, high winds, lightning, and flash floods, which can develop with limited warning in the UAE’s mountain and desert regions.
Wildlife & vegetation: insects, snakes, scorpions, and other wildlife; thorned or irritant plants.
Physical exertion: fatigue, muscular strain, joint injury, cardiovascular strain, and the effects of altitude on longer or higher-elevation routes.
Remote location: limited or no mobile network coverage, and delayed access to medical treatment or evacuation due to terrain and distance from medical facilities.
Group & equipment factors: the actions, inactions, or fitness limitations of other Participants; personal or shared equipment failure; transport to and from the trailhead.
Human error and multiple guides: the possibility that Trekaline’s Guides and staff, despite training and reasonable care, may misjudge conditions, give incomplete instructions, or make errors of judgment in a fast-changing outdoor environment. On larger Trips, several Guides may be present, each supervising a different part of the group; because each Guide independently assesses conditions for the Participants under their supervision (see clause 11), different Guides may reasonably make different decisions — such as route, pace, or timing — for different Participants on the same Trip.
This list is illustrative, not exhaustive. Outdoor activity carries risks that cannot always be anticipated in advance.
9. Acknowledgment of Risk
You acknowledge that the risks described above, and other risks not specifically identified, are inherent to the Activity and cannot be eliminated by Trekaline. You acknowledge that these risks may result in minor or serious injury, illness, permanent disability, or death.
10. Your Responsibilities
Follow the instructions of your Guide(s) and Trekaline staff at all times, including any decision by a Guide to slow, alter, split, or end an Activity, or part of it, for safety reasons.
Disclose, before the Activity begins, any medical condition, injury, medication, or physical limitation that could affect your safety or that of others.
Bring and use appropriate footwear, clothing, water, and equipment for the Activity as advised by Trekaline.
Honestly assess your own fitness and experience against the stated difficulty of the Activity before booking.
Not participate under the influence of alcohol or any substance that could impair your judgment or physical ability.
Remain with your assigned Guide and group unless otherwise directed.
11. Trip Leader and Guide Authority
A Trip may be led by a Trip Leader and, on larger Trips, one or more additional Guides who each support the Trip Leader and may be responsible for a different part of the group.
Refusing or removing a Participant. Only the Trip Leader has the authority to refuse entry to, or remove from, an Activity a Participant whose fitness, conduct, equipment, or condition the Trip Leader considers a risk to that Participant’s safety or the safety of others. This authority is exercised acting reasonably and based on the Trip Leader’s own assessment of the circumstances.
Day-to-day safety decisions. Subject to the Trip Leader’s overall authority, a Guide supervising part of the group may make reasonable, safety-related decisions for the Participants under their supervision, including adjusting pace or timing, or temporarily redirecting that part of the group, without needing the agreement of other Guides. Different Guides may therefore reasonably make different decisions for different parts of the group based on the conditions, timing, and capability of the Participants they are responsible for. Such decisions do not, on their own, entitle a Participant to a refund beyond what is provided under Part E below.
12. Third-Party Services and Transportation
Some Activities include transportation, equipment, or other services provided by an independent third-party operator engaged by Trekaline on your behalf, such as bus or vehicle transport, campsite operators, or equipment rental providers. Trekaline is not liable for the acts, omissions, or negligence of an independent third-party operator in providing its own service, except to the extent that Trekaline’s own negligence, such as in selecting or supervising that operator, causes your loss.
Where a Guide or Trip Leader personally provides or assists with transportation or another support activity as part of a Trip, the releases, assumption of risk, and limitations of liability in this Part C apply to that Guide or Trip Leader in the same way as they apply to Trekaline.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Trekaline harmless against any claim, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) brought by a third party arising from your own act, omission, negligence, or breach of these Terms, save to the extent caused by Trekaline’s own negligence or breach.
14. Medical Fitness and Insurance
You confirm that you are medically fit to participate in the Activity, that you have disclosed to Trekaline any medical condition relevant to your safety before the Activity, and that you are responsible for holding adequate travel, medical, and personal accident insurance for the duration of the Activity. Trekaline does not provide personal insurance cover to Participants. For multi-day Activities and Activities taking place outside the United Arab Emirates, you must hold, and provide evidence of, medical and emergency evacuation insurance appropriate to the Activity and its location before the Activity begins; Trekaline may decline your participation if you do not provide this.
15. Personal Belongings
Trekaline is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of a Participant’s personal belongings during a Trip, except where directly caused by Trekaline’s proven negligence.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted under the laws of the United Arab Emirates, Trekaline’s total liability to a Participant arising from a Trip is limited to the amount that Participant paid for the Trip in question, except that nothing in these Terms excludes or limits Trekaline’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, or for fraud, to the extent such liability cannot lawfully be excluded under UAE law. Trekaline is not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses.
Part D — Media and Data
17. Photography and Marketing
Trekaline may photograph or film Activities for its own records and safety purposes. Registering for a Trip requires you to accept these Terms as a single mandatory step; that acceptance does not itself include consent to use your image for marketing. Trekaline will only use an identifiable image or footage of you for marketing or promotional purposes if you separately and voluntarily agree to this — for example, by checking the dedicated, not pre-checked, marketing-consent box provided at booking or on-site. This consent is optional, is not a condition of taking part in an Activity, and you may withdraw it at any time by writing to join@trekaline.com, without affecting any use already made before you withdrew. If you have not given this consent, Trekaline will not use your identifiable image or footage for marketing or promotional purposes.
18. Data Protection
Trekaline collects and processes personal data you provide when booking a Trip — including emergency contact and, where relevant, medical information — for booking administration, safety, and communication purposes, in accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data. Trekaline does not sell your personal data to third parties. Where you separately consent to Trekaline using your photographs or footage for marketing (see clause 17), that consent is given, and may be withdrawn, independently of this clause.
Part E — Force Majeure and Cancellation
19. Force Majeure
Trekaline is not liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where this results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including extreme weather, natural disaster, flooding, government restriction or directive, public health emergency, strikes, or civil disruption. Where a Trip is affected by force majeure, clause 23 (Cancellation or Postponement by Trekaline) applies.
20. Cancellation by a Participant — 24 Hours’ Notice or More
20.1 Local Day Trips (Trips of one day or less within the United Arab Emirates): if you cancel your booking at least 24 hours before the Trip’s scheduled departure time, you may choose between:
(a) a Trekaline credit for the full value of your booking, valid for 12 months from the date of issue and redeemable against any future Trekaline Trip; or
(b) a refund to your original payment method, processed within 10 business days of your cancellation request being confirmed by Trekaline.
20.2 Expeditions (multi-day Trips, or Trips taking place outside the United Arab Emirates): cancellation more than 60 days before the Trip’s scheduled start date is fully refundable, including the deposit described in clause 4; cancellation 60 to 30 days before the start date forfeits 50% of the total Trip cost; cancellation 29 to 14 days before the start date forfeits 75% of the total Trip cost; and cancellation within 14 days of the start date forfeits the full Trip cost. These figures reflect Trekaline’s non-recoverable committed costs at each stage, including permits, flights, and accommodation, and may be adjusted on the specific Trip listing.
21. Cancellation by a Participant — Less Than Notice, or No-Show
21.1 Local Day Trips: Trekaline’s Trips involve fixed costs committed in advance — including transport, guiding, permits, and group logistics — that cannot be recovered at short notice. Accordingly, for a Local Day Trip:
(a) a cancellation made less than 24 hours before the Trip’s scheduled departure time, or
(b) a failure to arrive at the stated departure point and time without prior cancellation (a “no-show”),
will be treated as forfeited. No refund or credit, whether full or partial, will be issued in either case.
21.2 Expeditions: a cancellation within the notice period stated in clause 20.2, or a no-show, will be treated as forfeited in full, reflecting Trekaline’s non-recoverable committed costs at that stage.
22. How to Cancel
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to join@trekaline.com, stating your booking reference. The time Trekaline receives your cancellation request determines whether clause 20 or clause 21 applies, not the time you decide to cancel.
23. Cancellation or Postponement by Trekaline
Trekaline reserves the right to cancel or postpone a Trip at its discretion, including for reasons of safety, weather, insufficient sign-ups, or force majeure (clause 19). Where Trekaline cancels a Trip, affected Participants will be offered, at their choice, a full Trekaline credit or a full refund, processed within 10 business days, regardless of the notice given. Trekaline is not liable for any indirect or consequential cost a Participant incurs as a result, such as travel, leave, or third-party bookings made in connection with the Trip. This clause does not apply to minor route, itinerary, or Guide changes made under clause 5, which are not treated as a cancellation.
24. Weather and Safety
If Trekaline proceeds with a Trip as scheduled and a Participant chooses not to attend due to personal concern about weather or conditions, clauses 20 and 21 apply as normal. Where Trekaline itself postpones or cancels a Trip for safety or weather reasons, clause 23 applies.
25. Exceptional Circumstances
Trekaline may, at its sole discretion, make an exception to clause 21 in cases of documented medical emergency or other serious and unforeseeable circumstances. Requests should be sent in writing to join@trekaline.com with supporting information. This clause is a discretionary goodwill provision and does not create an entitlement to a refund or credit.
26. Refund Processing
Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at booking. While Trekaline processes approved refunds within 10 business days, your bank or payment provider may take additional time to reflect the refund in your account.
Part F — General
27. Intellectual Property
All content on trekaline.com, including text, branding, route maps, and photography, is the property of Trekaline or its licensors and may not be reproduced without written permission.
28. Complaints
If you have a complaint about a Trip, please contact Trekaline at join@trekaline.com within 7 days of the Trip so that we can investigate and respond.
29. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. The onshore courts of Sharjah have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or connected with these Terms.
30. Amendments
Trekaline may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on trekaline.com at the time of your booking applies to that booking.
31. Entire Agreement and Severability
These Terms form the entire agreement between you and Trekaline for a Trip. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

33. Acknowledgment
By ticking the acceptance box, or by completing a booking, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms in full; that you are voluntarily participating in the Activity with full knowledge of the risks described in Part C; that you accept those risks; and that you accept the releases, waivers, and other terms set out in these Terms, intending them to be legally binding.

Trekaline is not liable for the acts, omissions, or negligence of an independent third-party operator in providing its own service, except to the extent that Trekaline’s own negligence, such as in selecting or supervising that operator, causes your loss.
Where a Guide or Trip Leader personally provides or assists with transportation or another support activity as part of a Trip, the releases, assumption of risk, and limitations of liability in this Part C apply to that Guide or Trip Leader in the same way as they apply to Trekaline.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Trekaline harmless against any claim, cost, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) brought by a third party arising from your own act, omission, negligence, or breach of these Terms, save to the extent caused by Trekaline’s own negligence or breach.
14. Medical Fitness and Insurance
You confirm that you are medically fit to participate in the Activity, that you have disclosed to Trekaline any medical condition relevant to your safety before the Activity, and that you are responsible for holding adequate travel, medical, and personal accident insurance for the duration of the Activity. Trekaline does not provide personal insurance cover to Participants. For multi-day Activities and Activities taking place outside the United Arab Emirates, you must hold, and provide evidence of, medical and emergency evacuation insurance appropriate to the Activity and its location before the Activity begins; Trekaline may decline your participation if you do not provide this.
15. Personal Belongings
Trekaline is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of a Participant’s personal belongings during a Trip, except where directly caused by Trekaline’s proven negligence.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted under the laws of the United Arab Emirates, Trekaline’s total liability to a Participant arising from a Trip is limited to the amount that Participant paid for the Trip in question, except that nothing in these Terms excludes or limits Trekaline’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, or for fraud, to the extent such liability cannot lawfully be excluded under UAE law. Trekaline is not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses.
Part D — Media and Data
17. Photography and Marketing
Trekaline may photograph or film Activities for its own records and safety purposes. Registering for a Trip requires you to accept these Terms as a single mandatory step; that acceptance does not itself include consent to use your image for marketing. Trekaline will only use an identifiable image or footage of you for marketing or promotional purposes if you separately and voluntarily agree to this — for example, by checking the dedicated, not pre-checked, marketing-consent box provided at booking or on-site. This consent is optional, is not a condition of taking part in an Activity, and you may withdraw it at any time by writing to join@trekaline.com, without affecting any use already made before you withdrew. If you have not given this consent, Trekaline will not use your identifiable image or footage for marketing or promotional purposes.
18. Data Protection
Trekaline collects and processes personal data you provide when booking a Trip — including emergency contact and, where relevant, medical information — for booking administration, safety, and communication purposes, in accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data. Trekaline does not sell your personal data to third parties. Where you separately consent to Trekaline using your photographs or footage for marketing (see clause 17), that consent is given, and may be withdrawn, independently of this clause.
Part E — Force Majeure and Cancellation
19. Force Majeure
Trekaline is not liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where this results from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including extreme weather, natural disaster, flooding, government restriction or directive, public health emergency, strikes, or civil disruption. Where a Trip is affected by force majeure, clause 23 (Cancellation or Postponement by Trekaline) applies.
20. Cancellation by a Participant — 24 Hours’ Notice or More
20.1 Local Day Trips (Trips of one day or less within the United Arab Emirates): if you cancel your booking at least 24 hours before the Trip’s scheduled departure time, you may choose between:
(a) a Trekaline credit for the full value of your booking, valid for 12 months from the date of issue and redeemable against any future Trekaline Trip; or
(b) a refund to your original payment method, processed within 10 business days of your cancellation request being confirmed by Trekaline.
20.2 Expeditions (multi-day Trips, or Trips taking place outside the United Arab Emirates): cancellation more than 60 days before the Trip’s scheduled start date is fully refundable, including the deposit described in clause 4; cancellation 60 to 30 days before the start date forfeits 50% of the total Trip cost; cancellation 29 to 14 days before the start date forfeits 75% of the total Trip cost; and cancellation within 14 days of the start date forfeits the full Trip cost. These figures reflect Trekaline’s non-recoverable committed costs at each stage, including permits, flights, and accommodation, and may be adjusted on the specific Trip listing.
21. Cancellation by a Participant — Less Than Notice, or No-Show
21.1 Local Day Trips: Trekaline’s Trips involve fixed costs committed in advance — including transport, guiding, permits, and group logistics — that cannot be recovered at short notice. Accordingly, for a Local Day Trip:
(a) a cancellation made less than 24 hours before the Trip’s scheduled departure time, or
(b) a failure to arrive at the stated departure point and time without prior cancellation (a “no-show”),
will be treated as forfeited. No refund or credit, whether full or partial, will be issued in either case.
21.2 Expeditions: a cancellation within the notice period stated in clause 20.2, or a no-show, will be treated as forfeited in full, reflecting Trekaline’s non-recoverable committed costs at that stage.
22. How to Cancel
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to join@trekaline.com, stating your booking reference. The time Trekaline receives your cancellation request determines whether clause 20 or clause 21 applies, not the time you decide to cancel.
23. Cancellation or Postponement by Trekaline
Trekaline reserves the right to cancel or postpone a Trip at its discretion, including for reasons of safety, weather, insufficient sign-ups, or force majeure (clause 19). Where Trekaline cancels a Trip, affected Participants will be offered, at their choice, a full Trekaline credit or a full refund, processed within 10 business days, regardless of the notice given. Trekaline is not liable for any indirect or consequential cost a Participant incurs as a result, such as travel, leave, or third-party bookings made in connection with the Trip. This clause does not apply to minor route, itinerary, or Guide changes made under clause 5, which are not treated as a cancellation.
24. Weather and Safety
If Trekaline proceeds with a Trip as scheduled and a Participant chooses not to attend due to personal concern about weather or conditions, clauses 20 and 21 apply as normal. Where Trekaline itself postpones or cancels a Trip for safety or weather reasons, clause 23 applies.
25. Exceptional Circumstances
Trekaline may, at its sole discretion, make an exception to clause 21 in cases of documented medical emergency or other serious and unforeseeable circumstances. Requests should be sent in writing to join@trekaline.com with supporting information. This clause is a discretionary goodwill provision and does not create an entitlement to a refund or credit.
26. Refund Processing
Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at booking. While Trekaline processes approved refunds within 10 business days, your bank or payment provider may take additional time to reflect the refund in your account.
Part F — General
27. Intellectual Property
All content on trekaline.com, including text, branding, route maps, and photography, is the property of Trekaline or its licensors and may not be reproduced without written permission.
28. Complaints
If you have a complaint about a Trip, please contact Trekaline at join@trekaline.com within 7 days of the Trip so that we can investigate and respond.
29. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. The onshore courts of Sharjah have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or connected with these Terms.
30. Amendments
Trekaline may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on trekaline.com at the time of your booking applies to that booking.
31. Entire Agreement and Severability
These Terms form the entire agreement between you and Trekaline for a Trip. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

By ticking the acceptance box, or by completing a booking, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms in full; that you are voluntarily participating in the Activity with full knowledge of the risks described in Part C; that you accept those risks; and that you accept the releases, waivers, and other terms set out in these Terms, intending them to be legally binding.
