Al Rafisah Dam Hike

The Al Rafisah Dam Hike is a 7 km out-and-back climb with 500 m of elevation gain from Al Rafisah Dam to the Al Suhub Rest Area in Khor Fakkan, Sharjah, graded Beginner Plus. The trail climbs about 3 km from the lake to Al Suhub, the highest point in Khor Fakkan at around 580 m. You may also see the dam spelled Al Rufaisah.

What to Expect

The hike starts from the hiker parking at the dam and climbs steadily over a range of mountain terrain towards Al Suhub, a strenuous push that takes about an hour to an hour and a half. At the top, the rest area's saucer-shaped building has a café, toilets and prayer rooms, and the views stretch over Khor Fakkan.

You return to the dam the same way, with facilities waiting at both ends.
