The Edelrid Fuse Guided Fall Arrester is a guided type fall arrester that travels up the rope with you and locks when it needs to. It is certified for loads up to 140 kg (309 lb) and runs on ropes from 10 to 12 mm (0.4 to 0.5 in). The cam is toothless.

Features and Benefits

The toothless cam is the design decision everything else follows from. A toothed cam grips by biting into the sheath, which wears the rope and can tear it under a hard arrest. A toothless cam clamps on friction instead, so the rope lasts longer and the arrest is less violent.

Additionally, the clamping system is separated from the speed-dependent trigger. The cam only activates above 2 m/s, so normal working movement does not lock the device and you are not fighting it on every step.
