Trip details

Description

The Wadi Wurayah National Park Hike is a 7 km out-and-back route with 150 m of elevation gain through Wadi Wurayah National Park in the Hajar Mountains of Fujairah, graded Beginner. In 2026 the park became the UAE's first natural UNESCO World Heritage Site, and this trip is operated by Fujairah Holidays.

Trail Highlights

  • Good for: first-time hikers, families and relaxed walkers
  • Best season: October to April
  • A waterfall that flows all year, fed by more than 60 springs
  • Natural springs and freshwater pools fed by mountain streams
  • Ophiolite rock, ancient ocean crust pushed up into the mountains over millions of years
  • 1,099 recorded species, including the endangered Arabian tahr

Expect rugged mountain scenery and rocky wadi paths that lead to the waterfall, with flowing water, pools and green pockets rarely seen elsewhere in the UAE. Look for wadi fish in the pools and dragonflies over the water. Rock near the springs can be wet and slippery, so wear shoes with good grip and carry water and sun protection.
